"Advances in Biomedical Research" (PBB) Conference in organized anually by the Histology & Embryology Students' Science Association at the Department of Histology and Embryology of the Medical University of Warsaw. We invite students and PhD students to share their research at our conference!

The 15th PBB will be held on March 9th, 2024, at the Medical University of Warsaw.

You can attend the 15th PBB as an active or passive participant. Active participants present their works in oral sessions or present a poster in the poster session. On-site participation requires payment of the conference fee (100 PLN). Participants will receive welcome bags and lunch.

1. When and where exactly will the conference take place?

The PBB Conference will be held in the Collegium Anatomicum building of the Medical University of Warsaw.

The address is Chałubińskiego 5, 02-004 Warsaw, Poland.

The conference is scheduled for March 9th, 2024. The exact session schedule will be published on our website before the conference

2. What is the language at the conference?

The 15th PBB will be organized in two languages: Polish and English. Most oral sessions are planned to be held in Polish. Foreign participants are welcome to present their research in the English session. Posters can be prepared and presented either in English or Polish, according to the author's preferences.

Please note that the abstract language should match the presentation/poster language.

 

3. How do I participate in the conference?

Participation in the conference requires prior registration on our website:

Active participants should send their abstract until January 26th, 2024.

Passive participants should fill in the registration form until February 12nd, 2024.

Participants will have to pay the conference fee before the event. The fee is 100 PLN. We will instruct you how to pay the fee after accepting your abstract.

​

4. Do you accept literature reviews?

You can submit both original works and literature reviews for the PBB conference. However, original research is more likely to be accepted for presentation.

5. What is the structure of an abstract?

An abstract for original work should contain the following:

- Introduction - up to 500 characters

- Aim of the study - up to 200 characters

- Materials and methods - up to 500 characters

- Results - up to 500 characters

- Conclusions - up to 400 characters

​

An abstract for literature review is not structured (you can divide it into parts if you wish to) and should not exceed 2100 characters.

​

The number of characters specified above does not include whitespace characters. Abstracts cannot contain any images, tables, graphs etc.

​

6. What are the deadlines before the conference?

- January 14th, 2024 - abstract submission deadline

- February 5th, 2024 - results of abstract qualification for the conference

- February 12th, 2024 - passive participant registration deadline

- February 25th, 2024 - presentation file submission and fee payment deadline

7. What should a conference presentation look like?

During oral sessions, active participants have 7 minutes for their presentaion. After this time, there are 3 minutes for the discussion with the jury and/or other participants.

​

Av ctive participants should prepare their presentation as a PowerPoint file (.pptx) and send it to the organizers via e-mail until February 25th.

​

8. When will I receive the participation cerfiticate?

Participation certificates will be sent via e-mail in the week after the conference. There will only be digital certificates.

​

9. Can I get an invoice for the conference fee?

Yes, you will have to choose the right option in the registration form and fill in the required information.

If you mistakenly do not choose this option in the registration form, but would like to obtain an invoice, please contact us via e-mail.
